Rock and Wire Security can provide your business or home with a first-class, customised alarm monitoring solution such as back-to-base monitoring or a security monitoring app. We cater to small and large businesses, residential homes, as well as industrial and mining clients.
Back-to-base Alarm Monitoring
Back-to-base alarm monitoring is a popular service that provides peace of mind to home and business owners alike. This type of monitoring offers comprehensive protection and allows security professionals to monitor your system.
In essence, ‘back-to-base’ alarm monitoring is an alarm system that communicates with a monitoring centre. The security system is programmed to contact a staffed monitoring centre when an alarm is triggered, and immediately action a pre-determined response plan that has been agreed with the owner or manager of the system.
At Rock and Wire, we connect our alarms to a Western Australian Grade A1 monitoring centre that is operated by fully-licenced security professionals. All staff are trained to respond instantly to events, swiftly alerting a list of pre-determined contacts, or where desired, the police or local security.
This type of monitoring is recommended for all customers.
Our technicians can discuss the latest options available to connect your security system to our monitoring centre. The most popular options are wireless cellular radio signals (GPRS systems) or Internet Protocol (IP) systems.
Traditionally, monitoring systems used home phone lines, but with the roll-out of the National Broadband Network (NBN) and phasing out of the copper network this is no longer recommended. In fact, if you currently have monitoring via your home phone line you will need to look at other options before you change over to the NBN.
Our technicians will guide you to the best option to suit your needs, your budget and – most importantly – your system and the area you are trying to protect.
Security System Monitoring Apps
If back-to-base monitoring is not for you, you may want to consider a security system app instead.
Many of today’s security systems offer smartphone and PC applications (apps) that can be configured to send a notification to the system’s owner or manager when the system is in alarm. This allows the owner/manager to respond as they see fit.
Another benefit of this form of monitoring is the extra control it offers. Many of these apps will allow the owner or manager to arm and disarm the system from their smartphone, and even view cameras (where applicable).
This type of monitoring is recommended for smaller systems. While it is a cost-effective option, it is not as reliable as back-to-base monitoring.
